The USC Viterbi School of Engineering is hosting a conference next week, on February 10, called “Engineering and Managing the Megacity,” about “the challenges of planning, building and managing megacities, specifically focusing on the issues of energy, environmental quality, infrastructure, transportation, and natural disasters.” This final category will be addressed specifically by panelist Thomas Jordan, director of the Southern California Earthquake Center.
Things kick off at 1pm, and the event appears to be free and open to the public; here’s a link for registration.
(Thanks to Nate Berg for the tip!)
Will you be going to this geoff, definitely sounds interesting, wondering if anyone can provide a recap of this event at its end.
